Located in the heart of Hungary’s traditional Danube wine region, it is the only 100% Hungarian owned sparkling wine plant. The plant was established in the 1950s, has been operating as a sparkling wine plant since the 1970s, and today has a significant share of the Hungarian sparkling wine market (export share is more than 20%). In 2022 August Royalsekt Zrt. became part of a group of companies – due to a change of ownership – which is the second largest sparkling wine and wine producer in Hungary, and this conglomerate owns the largest vineyard area in Hungary with more than 1,200 ha.
